La mise à jour de la politique opérationnelle 14 permettra d'uniformiser les exigences de documentation des infractions dans toutes les juridictions lors des inspections après accident. |

| Mesures prises par le comité | The Crash Data and Investigations Committee voted to add the following guidance to Operational Policy 14: POST-CRASH/POST-COLLISION INSPECTIONS Operational Policy 14 should be followed unless there is significant disabling damage. In the case of significant disabling damage, an inspector should document one violation per vehicle unit for each critical vehicle inspection item that is damaged because of the crash/collision. Non-critical vehicle inspection items should be documented separately. The following violation codes are provided as examples for documenting a single violation related to post-crash/post-collision critical vehicle inspection items. • Brake Systems – 393.48PC • Cargo Securement – 393.100PC • Coupling Devices – 393.70PC • Driveline/Driveshaft – 396.3(a)(1)PC • Driver’s Seat (Missing) – 393.93PC • Exhaust Systems – 393.83PC • Frames – 393.201PC • Fuel Systems – 393.65PC • Lighting Devices – 393.9PC • Steering Mechanisms – 393.209PC • Suspensions – 393.207PC • Tires – 393.75PC • Van and Open-Top Trailer Bodies – 393.201PC • Wheels and Rims – 393.205PC • Hubs – 396.3(a)(1)PC • Windshield Wipers – 393.78PC • Rear Impact Guards – 393.86PC When the inspector identifies a violation during the inspection, the inspector shall select “yes” when the violation is a result of the crash/collision or “no” when the violation was not the result of the crash/collision. When the inspector cannot make a determination, the inspector should select “unknown.” For a vehicle with irrevocable damage (severely damaged or burnt to the ground), the condition shall be designated as a 396.7 violation and placed out of service. |
