As long as they do not meet or exceed the conditions listed in the OOSC, regrooved or retreaded tires on a steering axles of a motor coach are not an imminent hazard. Therefore, while a citation should be issued for running such tires on a motorcoach steering axle, the vehicle should not be placed OOS. It was brought up again as an issue years' later and the following OOSC was voted on and implemented. Passenger Carrying Vehicle: Regrooved, recapped, or retreaded tires on front steering axles.
