| Medidas adoptadas por el comité | There was an agreement, after discussion, that the condition described would not restrict free movement of the steering system. The problem to how one interprets "comes in contact with any part of the vehicle" in 10.a.(7). It is not unusual for inspectors to see shiny spots on drag links. They are particularly common on on-off highway equipment. Because shiny spots are common, there are several factors used to judge them. There was no simple wording that would eliminate the need for exercising judgement in this case. For the most part members agreed that if there was only polishing of the drag link, and other evidence indicated that there would be no actual trauma to the tire or the drag link, that it would not be an OOS condition. There was a recommendation that an article based on this discussion be carried in The Guardian. It would be to help those who face similar situations and are unsure of how to handle it. |
