| Resumen del asunto | En octubre de 2012, una mujer de Calgary murió en la Columbia Británica cuando, al parecer, una roca se desprendió de entre las ruedas gemelas del remolque y atravesó el parabrisas del vehículo en el que viajaba como pasajera. |

| Medidas adoptadas por el comité | This issue/request for action item was discussed in the spring meeting and the committee had voted on an amendment to the OOSC that was turned down by the Executive Committee and brought back to the Vehicle Committee for further review. The issue was around a condition that is imminently hazardous when debris is lodged between the tires. In October 2012 a Calgary woman was killed in British Columbia when a rock became dislodged from between the dual tires of the trailer and crashed through the windshield of the vehicle she was a passenger in. Executive Committee sent it back to the committee to discuss the difference between solid objects vs mud and snow. The committee felt that solid articles should be placed OOS if found lodged between the sidewalls and proposed wording was designed to not include them. The committee revisited the issue and through lengthy discussion, it was determined that only mud and snow should be excluded as there is the same potential with a piece of ice that is hard and large enough to become wedged between the sidewalls to become a projectile similar to a rock. By definition, mud and snow is not a solid object. Ice would be considered a solid object. The Vehicle Committee voted in favour with one opposed to the amendment below. 11. Tires c. Lodged Items Between Tires of a Dual Tire Set (1) Any solid item lodged between a set of dual tires that is in direct contact with the sidewalls of the tires (excluding mud and snow) (396.79(a).
