| Resumen del asunto | Estas fotos corresponden a un camión Ford E-350. Las ballestas rozaban los pasadores de las pinzas de freno traseras. El camión no estaba sobrecargado, pero la ballesta estaba desgastada. En la sección de suspensión se menciona que las ballestas pueden desplazarse de tal manera que entren en contacto con un neumático, llanta, tambor de freno o chasis. Esto no ha ocurrido. |
| Justificación o necesidad | En la sección de Frenos no se menciona esta infracción. Si el vehículo pasara por un bache, es posible que se rompa el pasador de la pinza que la sujeta, lo que constituiría una infracción por fuera de servicio. |

| Medidas adoptadas por el comité | Discussion was around a “tired” leaf spring causing the spring to rest on the caliper mounting bolt. It was indicated during the meeting , that rust jacking may cause this condition. Installation will normally keep clearance of the springs to 5 to 15 mm away from any brake components. The leaf springs had lost their strength and corrosion causing the spring to be pushed down and touching the bolt. It was also indicated that it appears the axle position had shifted because he had looked at this type of vehicle when the issue came onto the agenda and even in that condition, there would be 2 inches of clearance. This appeared to the committee to be a “one off” occurrence and at this time did not feel it was necessary to include in the OOS. It was indicated to the committee that if it is observed again, that the issue could be re-opened. A member of the committee agreed to look into it more and if he obtained more information, he would report back to the chair to have further discussion. The issue was closed with no action. |
