| Medidas adoptadas por el comité | 1. In response to the question "If a vehicle is equipped with a regular stroke Type 20 clamp chamber with an adjustment limit of 1" (45mm) and a type 20 rotochamber with an adjustment limit of 2" (51mm), is this a concern?" No, this is not a concern for purposes of the Out of Service Criteria. 2. Based on brake manufacturers advice, bolt type brake chamber characteristics cannot be related to the characteristics of other type of brake chambers and would therefore be considered mismatched. The Vehicle Committee discussed the issue and the fact that bolt type brake chambers were no longer being manufactured and they were rarely seen by inspectors. The Vehicle Committee discussed the need for the Bolt Type Brake Chamber Data reference chart to remain in the Out of Service Criteria. Recommendation was made: "Due to the obsolescence of the bolt type brake chamber, remove the Bolt Type Brake Chamber Data table from the reference charts in the Out of Service Criteria." The above Vehicle Committee action was presented to the Executive Committee; the Executive Committee voted against approving the Vehicle Committees recommendation in the event that there are still potentially some out there. |
