| Medidas adoptadas por el comité | A motion was made and seconded by the Executive Committee to amend the North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria; Part II, Section 14. EMERGENCY EXITS (BUSES). The language approved is as follows: Ballot Item #3: North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria; Part II, Section 14. EMERGENCY EXITS (BUSES). Action: To amend the North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria, Part II, Item 14. EMERGENCY EXITS (BUSES) as follows: From: "Emergency exits required by Section 393.62 that are missing, inoperative, or obstructed when passengers are on board. (393.62 and 393.203)" To: "Emergency exits required by Section 393.62 that are missing, inoperative, or obstructed. (393.62 and 393.203)" Footnote: Carrier has the option to remove the bus from the site to repair or replace the vehicle at their discretion. Reason: This amendment is intended to allow the placement of a bus out-of-service with inoperative emergency exits, regardless of loading condition. The addition of the footnote allows inspector discretion for removal of the bus from the inspection site for repairs. The effective date of this change to the North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria will be April 1, 2007. |
