¿Qué es un neumático pinchado?

Justificación o necesidad

Aclaración sobre los criterios de inspección por pinchazos. Esta es la pregunta más frecuente de los inspectores. Los restos de neumáticos contaminan nuestras carreteras, creando un entorno peligroso.

Solicitud de acción

Definición de un neumático desinflado. - Añadir a la Parte II, Sección 10 de Vehículos. Neumáticos, Subsección b.(1): UN NEUMÁTICO CON UNA PRESIÓN INFERIOR AL 50% DE LA PRESIÓN MÁXIMA o UN NEUMÁTICO CON UNA PRESIÓN INFERIOR AL 20%.

Medidas adoptadas por el comité

Based on the information provided in the Technology & Maintenance Councils Tire Air Pressure Study, Howie Steele motioned, Tedd Pounds seconded, and the motion was passed to add the following to the OOSC (see attached OOSC revision document):

Item 10.a.(6) Tire has noticeable (e.g., can be heard or felt) leak, or has 50% or less of the maximum inflation pressure marked on the tire sidewall. (393.75(a)(3))

NOTE: Measure tire air pressure only if there is evidence the tire is under-inflated.

NOTE: Vehicles may proceed after removal of the defective tire provided the weight on the remaining tires does not exceed the maximum allowed.
