| Mesures prises par le comité | There was material submitted in regards to bearing failure on both a tractor and a trailer. These incidents showed the danger of running with insufficient lubrication and provided a fairly broad look at possible bearing problems. After lengthy conversation, the committee agreed that a condition in regards to the wheel bearings be added to the OOSC and the following wording was voted on for the OOSC. 12.i. HUBS be added as follows: (1) When any axle bearing (hub) cap is missing or broken allowing an open view into the hub assembly. Note: This does not apply to missing fill plugs. (2) Smoking from wheel hub assembly due to bearing failure. Note: Not to be associated with smoke from a dragging brake. |
