| Résumé de l’enjeu | Enhanced CMV Inspection Standard Section 8.23 (RIG for straight trucks and older trailers) The Enhanced CMV Inspection Standard contains the dimensional requirements for rear impact guards on newer trailers in Section 8.23.a. At the time the enhanced inspection was initially developed, autonomous vehicle developers that were involved with the committee were operating truck-tractors towing trailers manufactured after January 26, 1998. Since that time, developers are operating straight trucks and the occasional trailer that is under the old rear impact guard requirements. The enhanced standard needs a section added to account for the U.S. regulatory requirements for these vehicles. |
