Mesures prises par le comité

A motion was made and seconded by the Executive Committee to amend Article VIII Section I ? General, by adding ?and/or Fall Workshop? as follows:

Ballots for voting specified in Sections II, III and IV will be distributed to the regular members present at the Annual Conference and/or Fall Workshop. In addition, no later than 30 days prior to the Annual Conference and/or Fall Workshop, the Executive Director will notify regular members that voting will take place.

The Executive Committee agreed that the amendment is justified because voting is allowed to take place at the Fall Workshop, with provisions for absentee voting per Section V of Article VIII.

Additionally, a motion was made and seconded to amend Article VIII Section V ? Absentee Voting,

From: The member jurisdiction registers with the Executive Director?s office in writing, postmarked at least ten (10) days before the beginning of the Annual Conference, of their inability to attend said Annual Conference and the need for an absentee vote or authorizing a voting proxy.

To: The member jurisdiction registers with the Executive Director?s office in writing, or by electronic means, and received by the office at least ten (10) days before the beginning of the Annual Conference and/or Fall Workshop of their inability to attend said Annual Conference and/or Fall Workshop and the need for an absentee vote or authorizing a voting proxy.

The Executive Committee agreed that the amendment is justified in order to allow the use of present and future communication technologies in addition to a written letter. Additionally, the addition of the Fall Workshop allows absentee jurisdictions the opportunity to vote on issues that may warrant a vote to be taken at that time.
