Medidas adoptadas por el comité

At the Public Forum meeting in Montreal in 2011, attendees discussed industry practices in loading heavy equipment and maintaining tires or tracks with a minimum of 50% of each track or tire in contact with the deck. As the Regulator Group had also previously discussed the issue, and there was a willingness to include this as a requirement, and therefore to adopt such language into the model regulation, the Forum supported moving in this direction.

However, after further consideration, the regulators group determined that the 50% is not support by tests or documentation and is just a recommended practice. It also does not apply when you have more than 4 tires per axle or if the vehicle is loaded on a trailer where the tires not being supported at all. Mike Huntley indicated that there were a number of situations that were discussed that require the issue to be looked at further. Until such time that further information can be gathered by the regulators, this issue is closed.
