| Medidas adoptadas por el comité | This request had been sent to the TMC Tire and Wheel Study Group and the following was reported. The system in question is an Automatic Tire Inflation System (ATIS). If the tire appears to have low inflation, then the hose should be disconnected at the delivery point and the tire pressure should be recorded. It could be possible that the delivery hose was damaged, the system could have been turned off, or that another component has malfunctioned causing air loss that would have automatically shut off the ATIS system to protect the air brakes. In any of these cases, the inspector must determine if the tire is in violation and verify the inflation level. Other committee members that were present also added that there is no problem with removing the system from the valve stem to check the air pressure if necessary. It was also noted that some of the system have an external adapter that can be used to check the pressure as opposed to removing the system from the stem. |
