Lithium Batteries Used as a Material of Trade

There has been an increase in the use of lithium batteries in all types of applications, including uses that meet the definition of a material of trade. We will review the definition of a material of trade in Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations §171.8 and the specific requirements applicable to materials of trade in §173.6, including the quantity of hazardous materials qualifying as a material of trade that may be transported in one vehicle.
