Canadian Industry Roadside Inspection Driver Requirements Training Course

This is an industry roadside inspection training course on driver-related roadside regulatory requirements and out-of-service conditions in Canada. Students will learn about:

  • Regulatory definitions and regulations for extra-provincial operations
  • Commercial driver’s license and driver qualification requirements
  • Dangerous goods
  • Federal hours-of-service rules and electronic logging device rules
  • Annual inspection reports
  • Standards for trip inspection reports
  • Schedules for commercial motor vehicles
  • Human trafficking identification and prevention
  • Documenting violations

This course is intended to provide the motor carrier industry with the necessary training to better understand Canadian roadside regulatory requirements. The goal of the training is to provide each motor carrier representative with the tools and knowledge to achieve compliance with driver safety regulations and a better understanding of the relationship between driver regulatory requirements and out-of-service conditions.

This 40-hour driver requirements course (Driver Requirements) covers all information related to a CVSA Level III Inspection (the first 13 steps of the Level I Inspection). The second 40-hour course (Vehicle Requirements) covers all the content related to a Level V Inspection (the remaining steps of the Level I Inspection) and will be held at the same location May 5-9, 2025. Registration for this course will open in February 2025.
