FMCSA Requests Comments on Motor Carrier Identification Report ICR
On June 17, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)  comments on the Motor Carrier Identification Report information collection request (ICR), which is used to identify FMCSA-regulated entities, prioritize the agency’s activities, aid in assessing the safety outcomes of those activities and for statistical purposes. Comments are due by Aug. 18.

FMCSA Requests Comments on HOS of Drivers Regulations ICR
On June 13, FMCSA  comments on the Hours of Service (HOS) of Drivers Regulations ICR, which involves HOS reporting requirements. Comments are due by Aug. 12.

Update on Exemptions

FMCSA Grants Provisional Renewal of SC&RA HOS Exemption, Requests Comments
On June 20, FMCSA  the provisional renewal of an exemption from the Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association (SC&RA), which would be for the transportation of loads that exceed normal weight and dimensional limits. The exemption applies to all oversize/overweight permitted loads whose drivers are not required to comply with the 30-minute rest break rule. The exemption is effective June 17, 2025, through Dec. 17, 2025. Comments are due by July 21.
