Late evening on Friday, Dec. 9, the Senate approved an extension of the FY2017 CR extending until April 28, 2017. The House approved the bill on Dec. 8. The CR allows agencies to fund FY2017 programs at the FY2016 level for nearly five months. The bill includes provisions for disaster relief, to aid the water crisis in Flint, Michigan and money for medical research. Congress returns for its 115th session on Jan. 3, 2017.
