On March 6, CVSA submitted comments on FMCSA’s NPRM seeking stakeholder input on the agency’s response to petitions for reconsideration regarding the length of the emergency relief automatically triggered subsequent to a regional declaration of emergency by a governor of a state, their authorized representative or FMCSA. The NPRM is based on petitions for reconsideration that FMCSA received, which included a petition from CVSA. CVSA commented that it supports FMCSA’s proposition to revise the duration of the automatic emergency relief in Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations § 390.23, Automatic relief from regulations, from 14 days to 30 days.
