CVSA Submits Comments on CMV Safety to Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee

On July 29, CVSA  comments for the record of the July 22 U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation’s Subcommittee on Surface Transportation, Freight, Pipelines and Safety hearing, “Shifting Gears: Issues Impacting the Trucking and Commercial Bus Industries in the U.S.” The hearing provided an opportunity for senators to engage with industry to better understand the unique challenges of the commercial motor vehicle industry. CVSA’s comments offered recommendations related to universal electronic vehicle identifiers, safety technology and automated CMVs, in addition to sharing CVSA’s surface transportation reauthorization priorities to inform the Senate’s work on future legislation.
