‘Teens and Trucks’ Youth Safe-Driving Campaign

Most driver’s education classes offer little to no information about how to drive safely around large trucks and buses, yet we share the roads with these vehicles every day. Operation Safe Driver’s ‘Teens and Trucks’ program is our educational tool for educating youth drivers. Through this program, students are educated about the different characteristics of a large truck or bus compared to a car, as well as the dangers of distracted driving.

Operation Safe Driver has created materials designed to easily integrate into existing driver’s education programs or to be used as stand-alone education, all available at no cost. This information can be taught by any instructor and can also be used for teens in high schools, parent-teacher organizations, community groups or other interested organizations.

We provide everything you’ll need to teach this important information:

  • 18-minute educational video
  • 18-page lesson plan
  • Student workbook
  • Instructor guidelines
  • Distracted driving pledge form
  • Other supporting materials

Fill out our online order form to immediately receive the files for download.

The Teens and Trucks training program was created by CVSA in collaboration with the Arizona Trucking Association, Arizona Department of Public Safety and American Trucking Associations. Together these partners developed a successful program to help educate teens about safe driving practices around commercial vehicles.
