Congress Passes Funding Continuing Resolution

On Dec. 6, 2018, Congress passed a continuing resolution that was signed by the president on Dec. 7, 2018, funding the federal government through Dec. 21. Included in the funding is a continuation of the prohibition of ELD enforcement on livestock and insect haulers. Congress will have to either pass another continuing resolution or full appropriations bill for fiscal 2019 by Dec. 21 to avoid a partial government shut down. Debates over funding for border security may prevent an agreement by the deadline.
