Federal Government Shuts Down

Federal Government Shuts Down

As expected, the House and Senate were unable to reach an agreement on a continuing resolution to fund FY2014 and so, at midnight last night, the vast majority of the federal government was shut down. As we noted last week, however, because FMCSA receives its funding from the Highway Trust Fund rather than through the general appropriations cycle, FMCSA and the MCSAP program are not directly impacted by the shutdown. House and Senate leaders along with the White House will work to come to a resolution, but there is not currently a clear path forward.
